On argue que les gangs forment des contre-sociétés étatiques qui gouvernent les marginalités urbaines en raison de l’afro-néolibéralisme qui a été amplifié au début des années 1990. Ces groupes criminels expriment en cela les contradictions du capitalisme contemporain à la fois effondrement de la démocratie libérale et manifestation d’un consumérisme transgressif à travers un anarcho-tribalisme. Ces gangs dénotent, comme le prédisait Marx, la chute du paradigme économique occidental. De là une apocatastase, à savoir la restauration des origines en l’espèce d’un communisme primitif, que l’on voit poindre dans les townships. This article explores the daily life the so-called tsotsis, slang for gangsters in the rainbow nation. We argue that gangs constitute state counter-societies which govern those urban marginalities due to the institutionalization of afroneoliberalism. Those criminal groups express in that the contradictions of capitalism, both liberal democracy collapsing and manifestation of a trans­gressive consumerism through an anarcho-tribalism.
